The Beach That Never Was

Hayama Projects' exhibition The Beach That Never Was explores the concept of home through an intimate understanding of place. It is an allusion to the archetypal tropical beach town, its natural environment a paradise to tourists, but little more than a backdrop to locals. The exhibition explores the idea of home, creating new and strange moments in violent and humorous ways. It features works by Juka Araikawa, Stephanie Jane Burt, Joshua Callaghan, Mike HJ Chang, Kathleen Ditzig, John Freeman, Hirofumi Isoya, Doug Harvey, Josh Miller, Diana Nawi, Krister Olsson, Pimeriko, Ryo Shimizu, Mark Thia, and Darryl Wee.
